How to Navigate

How do I navigate this site?

It all depends on your interests.  The drop down menus at the top of the page allow you to explore a variety of resources.  It will always remain at the top of the page.

The Browse Exhibits tab is the gateway to the interactive episodes (called "microhistories") that our undergraduate and graduate researchers have created.  Click on an episode to enter an interactive history experience that incorporates resources from our partner organizations and the storytelling skills of our researchers.

The History Professions tab features interviews with historians, museum professionals, and archivists.  Are you passionate about these fields or do you want to learn more about them?  Always wondered how we know what we know about the past?  This is the place to start.

Finally, Neatline is our geographic information systems plugin (otherwise known as state-of-the-art mapping technology).  Interested in how Hartford has changed over time?  Start here.

I'm interested in a specific topic or source material.  How do I find it here?

The search function at the top of the page can be used to quickly find materials of interest.
